There was an Old Lady
Take a piece of cardboard and create your own 'old lady' (complete with cut-out big gaping mouth) then let her eat all kinds of silly things around the house! It's hilarious and fun. And there are TONS of books that go along with it. Like all of these.
Recently (with a group of preschoolers) I filled a basket with silly things for the old lady to eat. Each item had a note tied to it that said: 'choose a story', 'play a game' or 'sing a song'. After the child fed the old lady we did what the note said. It was great fun!
