How can our weekly countdown to Christmas be at
ONE WEEK LEFT? I just don't understand time, completely baffling.
(I, for one, could use a bit more time! I have a lot of things that have been ordered, but are yet to arrive…I hope they do!)
Today we're just going to share some books that we happen to know Santa is most likely going to leave at our houses on Christmas night…
Everybody (
including Whit) has been raving about Mo Willems new book,
That Is Not a Good Idea!
Well, I'm sure
It Is a Good Idea to wrap up and put under the tree. (I finally got to read the ending and it's PERFECT!)
Cuteness will officially become the proud owner of her beloved Birdie Books
by Sujean Rim... just in time for a new one coming out next year. (Yay!)
Snoopy is still the fisherman of the universe. I think he's going to really enjoy the
Outdoor Kids Club Ultimate Fishing Guide
he'll be getting.
The Dragon Adventure series by Jessica Day George (Dragon Flight
is the first book) is Lilac's number one right now! She's read the first 2 books and has asked Santa for the final installment!
In our
non fiction list I mentioned
The Animal Book: A Collection of the Fastest, Fiercest, Toughest, Cleverest, Shyest--and Most Surprising--Animals on Earth
by Steve Jenkins. You'll be seeing more of this one for sure.
I've almost bought Peter Spier's Noah's Ark
twice before now. Such fantastic art! Also, I'm wrapping it up for myself. It's okay to do that sometimes, don't you think? I'll share…maybe.
Hey! I got myself one too.
Simple Sewing: 30 Fast and Easy Projects for Beginners
by Katie Lewis. I first heard about this book over at
Pieces by Polly. I'm really excited to use its ideas to sew with my kiddos.
Taking Robyn's advice, Lilac tried out the Wimpy Kid Books
by Jeff Kinney. Guess what? She loved the first one and she wants more for Christmas!!
And then there is
Tea Rex
by Molly Idle. Yes, you are going to adore this one.
Vanessa turned us on to I Had a Favorite Dress
by Boni Ashburn. Because we loved it so much when we borrowed if from the library, some happy little ladies will be getting it for keeps this Christmas!
That looks like a bunch of wonderful Christmas presents to me! And I know that we'll be opening them before you know it. The next couple of weeks are going to FLY BY, I guarantee it.
