GOBBLE GROWL GRUNT by Peter Spier

Whit & I have been playing along with My Little Bookcase in an Instagram book a day challenge.  (Click the Instagram link on the side bar to see what we've come up for each day.)  Monday the challenge was onomatopoeia.  It didn't take long for Peter Spier's Gobble, Growl, Grunt (1971) to come to my mind.

This is a book I remember checking out from the Bookmobile several times in my childhood.  It's just such a fun book to look at.  (I love seeing the obsolete checkout card holder with dates stamped on the inside of the back cover.)  I found this book (old friend) at the local thrift store a few years ago, and the minute I saw it I remembered it.... does that ever happen to you?

Here's a taste of what's inside...  (Snoopy's comment, "This guy is amazing at drawing!" I agree.

See why this book came to mind for onomatopoeia day?
