Tomie dePaola's Mary Had a Little Lamb

Have you seen Mary Had a Little Lamb by Sarah Josepha Hale, illustrations by Tomie dePaola?  This board book edition was released in 2004, I happened across it at a library sale.  Who doesn't LOVE dePaola's signature artistic style?  Set in the poems traditional 19th century New England, this little board book is amazingly endearing.
The pages alternate between text and no text.  The illustrations are wonderful.
Kitten LOVES the ending.  Every time we read it she names each animal.
This is such a fantastic nursery rhyme.  I think it totally deserves it's own book.  I'm particularly partial to this one because one year when I taught Kindergarten a sweet little girl named Linda had a lamb that followed her to school... it happened several times.  It was adorable.
