Bubble Bubble

The first books I ever really started collecting were Mercer Mayer's Little Critter books.  I still have several with my name written in the front from childhood.  I can't find words to truly explain my love for his work in children's literature.  (One of my very first posts was about him, check it out!)

As an adult (and an avid kids book collector) I've found that Mayer's work is much more extensive than I ever knew.  And some of his older stuff is really incredible.  For example: Bubble Bubble which was published in 1973.  (Found this copy at a book exchange!  I was flying high that day!!!)
The little boy in this book buys a set of magic bubbles... and soon enough he finds himself in over his head.  I just adore the way Mayer can tell such fantastic stories with so few words!
