Snowflakes for Sandy Hook

Hi this is totally uncool of me because Robyn has an adorable post ready and I'm totally asking if I can just come in and take over!  Sorry! I have to tell you quickly about a wonderful thing I heard about from one of my sister-in-laws. (Haven't I told you they give me all the good ideas?)

So, apparently the kids of Sandy Hook will be moving to a new school after the winter break. The PTSA wants them to have a fantastic fresh start so they are calling out to the nation to send snowflakes which will be used to create a winter wonderland throughout the school!

They are looking for as many unique snowflakes as they can get! They can be cut from paper, sewn, knitted, crocheted, pipe cleaners, etc.  The more creative the better!

If you are looking for something to do over the break, I think making load of snowflakes is one of the best ideas ever!! I'm totally doing this with my kids.  And since they are quite young and (thankfully) don't know the circumstances of this project, I'm just going to tell them that we're going to send some of the snowflakes to our friends.

If you'd like to join in, you can send snowflakes to this address:
Connecticut PTSA
60 Connolly Parkway
Building 12, Suite 103
Hamden, CT 06514
They've asked that snowflakes are sent by January 12, 2013

I know life is just the most crazy it can possibly be for most of us right now!  I am hoping --and looking forward to-- a bit of a lull here between Christmas and New Years.  If you have some down time that week too, how about getting out the art supplies and spreading a little love?

Okay, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday!
