Bugs by the Numbers!

I have had my eye out for the book Alphabeasties for awhile now.  I saw it from Robyn on pinterest, who I think saw it from Vanessa?  I’m not sure, but let me go on before this turns into one of those “cousin’s sister’s hair dresser’s dog’s best friend” stories.  Bottom line, Alphabeasties, it looks cool! So, imagine my surprise when I came across this little beauty at the library...
Bugs by the Numbers is Alphabeasties gone buggy!  It’s filled with bug facts and cool illustrations where bugs are made out of numbers. It’s really something.
There’s gross stuff, like the fact that cockroaches can live for 168 hours without their heads. (Yuck!)  And fun facts too.  Did you know that in 1999 NASA sent a shuttle into space with 4 ladybug passengers?  They were named John, Paul, George, and Ringo.
But even if you aren’t an entomologist at heart, the illustrations are totally worth checking out.  Bold colors, high contrast, swirling text and lift-the-flap pages add to the fun.  Now that I’ve seen this, I want to find Alphabeasties even more!

Bug out! Oh, and happy reading!
