Leonardo, Edwina, and Valentine Detox

Hi!  I don't know about all of you but we are coming off a wild few days of scrambling and excitement & a huge sugar rush! In this spirit, I did not attempt to do an activity this week-- I mean other than all the pre-valentine activities and the actual Valentine activities.

And, is it just me, or are the Valentine's Day candy, cookies, cupcakes & general sugariness almost worse than Halloween?  Like instead of getting one burst of sugar all at the end of the day, after trick or treating; it feels like my kids were on a slow drip sugar IV. (ALL! DAY! LONG!)

At one point they were running around and the younger one got tired and said she needed to rest-- to which the older one replied, as she continued running, "Hmmm, I must have had more sugar than you." So, no activity, but here are some great books.  I hope in all the excitement you haven't forgotten that it's Mo Month.
In this book we read about Leonardo who happens to be a terrible monster-- not in the sense that he's scary or mean, but in the sense that he's just no good at being a monster.  He's feeling pretty low...

Anyway, he really wants to "scare the tuna salad out of someone." (Great description, right?) So, he does his research and finds someone to scare, but things don't go quite as he planned.  They go even better--and not scarier, in case you're wondering.  That's all I'm sayin'.  Read it.

Edwina, The Dinosaur Who Didn't Know She Was Extinct
Mo (again)
Here we meet Edwina, a lovely and very friendly cookie baking dinosaur, who doesn't realize that she should no longer be roaming the face of the earth.  But, we also meet hater: Reginald Von Hoobbie-Doobie, who is determined to prove that Edwina is extinct!
It's a pocketbook carrying dinosaur who helps old ladies cross the street versus a skeptical little know-it-all with the high and mighty name of Von Hoobie-Doobie. I really don't know what else to tell you.  Only Mo could come up with this stuff, and thank goodness he does!

Happy Reading!

PS- Remember those cool fish Robyn made?  Well we're giving them away-- and yes I know you probably already know that, but it would be so great if you'd share the link and tell someone else-- really, really great!  And hey, thanks for reading, it makes our day!!
